The founder of the LGBT movement in Puerto Pricesa City, Joey Odtohan introduced new set of candidates for “Queen of Queens” during the Sangguniang Panlungsod regular session, November 19, 2018.
The said pageant was joined by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community around the province. Odtohan said that there were many who auditioned for the screening of Queen of Queens, yet, 20 were chosen as the best one.
“Actually madami po yan, mahirap kasi pag kasyahin sa baywalk pag marami so pumili tayo ng best 20,” he said. City Councilor Modesto ‘Jonjie’ Rodriguez, expressed his support to the said pageant and emphasized that the Puerto Princesa City Council once passed an anti-discrimination ordinance for the LGBT.
“Nais po natin ipagbigay alam na ang ating konseho ay nagpasa ng ordinansa na nagbibigay ng equal na proteksyon para sa ating LGBT,” he said. The “Queen of Queens” will be held in December this year at the Puerto Princesa Baywalk. Its award for the pageant has levelled up, with a grand prize of P50,000.
