Summer Sports Clinic ng City Government, pinaghahandaan na

Puspusan ang ginagawang paghahanda ng City Sports Office ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod para sa gagawing Summer Sports Clinic para sa mga kabataan na libreng ibibigay sa lahat ng mga gustong matuto ng iba’t-ibang sports tulad ng swimming, taekwondo, arnis at wushu.

Ayon kay City Sports Director Atty. Rocky Austria, dahil sa naranasang pandemya noong mga nagdaang taon ay ipinagbawal ang iilang contact sports dahil sa COVID-19 at layunin nito na mabigyan ng oportunidad ang mga kabataan na matuto sa larangan ng palakasan.

“Ito yearly naman natin ginagawa ito no… pero after Holy Week na, yung summer clinic mayroon tayong learn to swim yung mga bata na gusto na matutong lumangoy…tapos mayroon din tayo sa taekwondo tuturuan ng mga basic yung mga bata… arnis and… wushu.”

“Sa ating mga kababayan dito sa ating lungsod… matagal-tagal na rin na yung mga kabataan natin ay nasa mga bahay lang dahil sa pandemic. Ngayon, we’re given them the opportunity na kahit papaano manumbalik yung ah… activities nila na beneficial sa health nila.”

Dagdag pa ni Austria, first come first serve umano ang aktibidad at plano isagawa ang swimming sa City Sports Complex habang tatlo naman ay sa isang mall dito sa lungsod.

“Itong venue yung pagdadausan nitong tatlong events taekwondo, arnis and wushu sa Robinsons Place naman ito,” ani Austria.

“First come first serve yung sa registration ano… siguro ‘yong sa swimming dalawang session ito, sa umaga tapos isang session naman sa hapon… yung details nito sa City Sports kasi.”

Hindi pa umano malinaw sa ngayon at masusing pinag-aaralan pa ng kanilang tanggapan kung anong edad umano ang puwedeng lumahok sa nasabing aktibidad.

“Mga minor ito… I think mga ah…8 [years old] pataas… titingnan natin sa registration kung ano ang mas maraming ano…at baka hanggang 18 or 16 [years old]… titingnan pa natin basta magpa-rehistro na lang muna sila then tatawagan sila and titingnan yung details nila… yung qualifications and then ipo-post namin sa aming website,” ani Austria.

“Pero puwede na magpa-rehistro para makita namin kung ito ba ay kakayanin ng aming mga trainers…magpa-rehistro nalang muna sila.”

Problema din umano ayon kay Austria, na dapat ay fully vaccinated ang lalahok sa nasabing aktibidad dahil ang mga edad 12 pababa ay hindi pa umano p-puwedeng magpabakuna, at isa din umano ito sa kanilang tinitingnan.

“Ang age kasi ng vaccination ata 12 [years old] pataas eh…kaya pinag-aaralan namin na sana…kasi ito contact sports na yung iba dito eh…kahit na level 1 na tayo [Alert Level] may mga protocols parin tayo dapat i-observe.”

“Pinag-aaralan parin namin and observe parin natin yung protocol preferably mga vaccinated dapat…yun nga lang yung mga kabataan kasi grassroots yung program…baka hindi pa na v-vaccine-nan. Titingnan natin, pag-aaralan parin namin…ano lang kami ah…in-advance lang namin para makita natin yung gusto magpa-reghistro…1 month ito eh…1 month yung program natin at baka daily itong summer clinic.”

Samantala, magkakaroon din umano ng basketball clinic para sa mga kabataan at sa mga interesado umano ay maari lamang tumungo sa tanggapan ng City Sports Office upang magparehistro.
