PUERTO PRINCESA CITY – The new tariff rate for the minimum fare is expected to be released and implemented on Wednesday, July 11, raising the current fare of P8 to P10 for the first two kilometers.
The fare increase is only allowed provided that there is a new tariff notice posted inside the tricycle.
The tariff is to ensure that tricycle drivers will not overprice the riding passengers.
There are around 21 tricycle drivers’ associations in the city that will benefit from this new directive. They will receive it from the Tricycle Franchising Section of the City Hall. It will then be distributed to their members.
An additional P1.50 will be added for every succeeding kilometer after the first two. A 20% discount applies to the persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens and students.
