As part of its commitment to environmental protection, an international hotel chain in Puerto Princesa, promises to plant to 2,000 mangrove seedlings every year.

Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa has been spearheading its tree planting project in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources headed by Atty. Carlo Gomez, represented by Ms. Zorina Arellano.

Guests staying in Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa can be part of this tree planting project. They can request at least a month before their check-in date and in return, they will receive a certificate signed by the hotel manager and the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer.

Recently, hotel guests together with the Rotary Circuit of Makati and hotel staff planted around 300 seedlings. Last February, Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa also joined in the “Love Affair with Nature” tree planting activity of the city government.

Mangroves forest are important ecosystems and are known to protect shorelines especially against the storms and waves. They maintain the quality and clarity of the water, filtering any harmful agents coming from the land.
