JCI Oil partners with Palawan Eye Center for eye health program

The eye health program of JCI Puerto Princesa Oil in partnership with Palawan Eye Center dubbed as “Kita-Kita” continued serving the indigent senior citizens, the person with a disability, and 4Ps beneficiaries in Palawan on its third year from August 26-September 7, 2019 in celebration of Sight Saving Month.

Included in this year’s activities are short talks concerning the importance of proper eye care, prevention of blindness program, annual free eye check-up, cataract removal, and distribute free eyeglasses to chosen beneficiaries. The recipients of the program should bring a valid ID, Senior Citizen ID, PWD ID, DSWD 4P’s ID, and indigency certificate from their respective barangay to join the activity and receive free eye checkup.

The indigent senior citizens were the primary beneficiaries and recipients of the eye health program since most of them had no regular income, limited support from their children and had no health care for eye diseases and most suffer from deteriorating vision.

JCI says that, eyesight is precious but as people age they suffer from eye diseases if they don’t take good care properly their eyes.

“Our less fortunate senior citizens and indigenous people who are being deprived of help found in remotest barangays outside city proper of Puerto Princesa need assistance and attention for their eye health care.

“Conducting an eye screening and check-up and to probably advocate a cataract removal if necessary is a great help and relief to our senior citizens for their mobility and get improve their vision so they can spend quality time with their grandchildren and seeing all of this precious moment in their lives clearly,” JCI said.
