14 tripulante ng barkong pangisda nabangga ng Chinese vessel sa Occidental Mindoro, pinaghahanap pa rin

Nagpapatuloy ang search and rescue operations ng Philippine Coast Guard para mailigtas ang 14 na tripolante ng lumubog MV Liberty V sa karagatang sakop ng Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro matapos masalpok ng Hong Kong-flagged cargo vessel na MV Vienna kahapon ng madaling araw, June 28.

Ayon kay Mario Mulingbayan, ang Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer ng Occidental Mindoro, katuwang ng PCG ang Philippine Air Force sa paghahanap sa mga nawawalang mangingisda maliban pa sa mga volunteers.

“Tuloy ang paghahanap namin at kalalapag lang ng chopper ng Philippine Coast Guard at nag-aerial search maliban dun sa barko nila. And ngayon, lilipad naman ang chopper ng Philippine Air Force. Ang nakakalungkot lang, lahat sila ay hindi pa nakikita hanggang sa ngayon pero tuluy-tuloy naman ang aming paghahanap,” ani Mulingbayan.

Ang nakabanggaan naman anyang cargo vessel ng MV Liberty V ay patungo na sa Coast Guard Batangas Headquarters para sa kaukulang disposisyon at isasagawang imbestigasyon sa naganap na aksidente.

“Ang MV Vienna naman po ay ini-escortan na ng Philippine Coast Guard papuntang Batangas City para malaman ang dahilan ng aksidente,” dagdag ng PDRRMO head ng Occidental Mindoro.

Sa hiwalay na panayam, sinabi naman ng General Manager ng IRMA Fishing and Trading Company na si Fermin Sotto, na tumutulong din sila sa paghahanap sa mga empleyado nilang naaksidente sa karagatan.

“Nasa area din po ‘yong mga fishing boat namin na tumutulong sa paghahanap pero so far, wala pa silang nakikitang survivors. Umaasa po kami na ligtas sila at makikita po sila sa lalong madaling panahon. May nababalitaan kami sa Facebook na may mga survivors, sana totoo ‘yon at para mapuntahan namin at masundo sila,” ani Sotto.

Karamihan din anya sa sakay ng lumubog na fishing vessel ay mga residente ng Palawan base sa dokumentong hawak ng kompanya.

“Labing dalawa po ang tripolante at may dalawa po silang sakay na mula sa ibang fishing vessel na sumabay lang, mga empleyado rin ng IRMA at magbabakasyon kaya sumabay na doon kaya 14 sila lahad doon. Hindi lang rin yata apat ang taga-Palawan, marami doon halos lahat nga taga dyan,” dagdag pa nito.

Umaasa naman ang mga kaanak ng mga nawawalang mangingisda na maililigtas sila at makakauwi ng buhay.

Ayon kay Joan Manipol, kapatid ng isa sa mga tripolante ng lumubog na MV Liberty V, mula noong Sabado ay wala na nga silang komunikasyon sa kanyang kapatid at nalaman lamang anya nila ang masamang balita mula mismo sa kompanya nito.

“Tumawag lang po sa amin ‘yong IRMA Fishing at sinabi na lumubog nga daw po ang sinasakyan ng kapatid ko dahil nabangga ng cargo vessel. Pauwi na po sana s’ya sa Dumaran dahil tapos na ang kontrata n’ya pero naaksidente pa,” kwento ni Manipol.

“Sana po makita na sila para makauwi na po dito sa Palawan. Dalawa po ‘yan sila na alam kong taga-Dumaran tapos may isang taga-Cuyo at isang taga-Araceli pero ‘yong iba po, hindi ko na po alam kung taga saan,” dagdag pa nito.

Samatantala, tiniyak naman ng pamunuan ng IRMA Fishing and Trading Company ang suporta sa mga pamilya ng kanilang mga empleyadong kasama sa lumubog na fishing vessel.
