The Department of Health on Thursday, August 5, 2021, reported 116 additional cases of COVID-19 Delta variant in the Philippines.
DOH said that 95 of the 116 cases are local cases, one is a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF) and 20 for verification.
According to DOH, from these 95 local cases of more transmissible Delta, 83 are detected in the National Capital Region (NCR). Three are from Calabarzon, four in Central Visayas, two in some parts of Davao Region and one in Zamboanga Peninsula, Ilocos and Cagayan Valley.
Health authorities also detected 113 cases of Alpha variant, 122 cases of Beta variant and 10 for Theta variant.
DOH confirmed that all these new reported cases of the said variants have been tagged as recovered.
The country now has a total of 331 cases of the Delta variant, 276 cases of the Theta variant, 1,968 cases of the Alpha variant and 2,268 cases of the Beta variant.
