The ‘no vax, no ride’ policy implemented on Monday, January 18, 2022, would likely be lifted once the National Capital Region lowers to Alert Level 2 by February 1 of the same year, declared by DOTr Usec. Goddess Hope Libiran on Sunday, January 30.
She explained that lifting the policy was long agreed even before its implementation.
“Once we de-escalate to Alert Level 2, the no vaxx, no ride policy shall automatically be lifted,” said Libiran.
Also recalling from the previous DOTr statement last January 17 that the policy will not be perpetually implemented, and that it would only take place in Metro Manila while it is on Alert Level 3.
It was also on the same day that the national government declared the lowering to Alert Level 2 of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal starting tomorrow, February 1, 2022.
At the moment, the city of Puerto Princesa and the rest of Palawan is on its Alert Level 3 status, which started last Friday, January 28, and will last until February 15, 2022.
Alert Level 3 primary guidelines prohibit face-to-face classes for basic education, contact sports, entertainment establishments, and gatherings that are composed of guests who are not living in the same household with the host.
However, the guidelines permit traveling within or between zones and individual outdoor exercises, 100% fully-operation but 60% on-site capacity with applied work-from-home and other flexible work arrangements, and 30% indoor and 50% outdoor venue capacity for fully-vaccinated individuals of 18 years old and below as well as fully-vaccinated employees for those in government agencies and other instrumentalities.
