Five injured in car accident in Narra

Five persons sustained multiple injuries after a driver of a passenger van allegedly lost control over the steering wheel of his vehicle along the highway of Barangay Calategas around 12pm Tuesday at Narra town.

A spot report from authorities identified the driver as Larry Miranda, 48 years old, married, and a resident of Poblacion Quezon, Palawan while the injured were: Lucila Penoblar, 52 years old, married; Carlita Viray, 60 years old, married; Erma Paulo, 49 years old; Mercilin Tomel, 44 years old, married; and Bita Dampas, 50 years old, married.

The ill-fated van, according to police investigation, was traveling the National Highway from Quezon going to Puerto Princesa City or in northbound direction.

Upon reaching the place of incident, the driver lost control over the steering wheel due to slippery road and as a result, the vehicle crashed and fell on the right portion of the road, injuring five of its passengers.

The passengers sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies and were rushed to Narra Municipal Hospital for medical attention while the said vehicle incurred heavy damages.
