Palawan farmer nabbed for attempted homicide; Faces temporary release on bail

Araceli, Palawan – A 20-year-old farmer, identified as Gamil Acosta from Barangay Balogo, found himself in custody on Tuesday due to a pending case of attempted homicide. Acosta’s apprehension occurred on August 29, 2023, in Barangay Balogo, based on a warrant issued by Judge Lucena Dacuan from the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of the 4th Judicial Region on August 24, 2023.

The warrant was issued in connection with the charge of attempted homicide, which falls under Section 249 of the Revised Penal Code.

According to the provincial police’s report released on Wednesday morning, Acosta could only secure a temporary release by posting a bail amounting to P36,000 within the same town.

As of now, the details surrounding the alleged attempted homicide are yet to be disclosed. Acosta’s arrest was carried out following the issuance of the warrant.
