Mahigit sa tatlong libong mga tawag na ang natanggap ng COVID-19: Sagip Palaweño Operations Center mula nang ilunsad ang programa nitong nakaraang lingo na naglalayong matulungan ang mga Palaweñong inabutan ng lockdown at na-stranded sa ibang lugar.

Sa ulat na inilabas ng provincial government, sinasabing maliban sa pagtugon sa kahilingang makauwi ng ating mga kababayan, nagpaabot narin ang pamahalaang panlalawigan ng tulong pinansyal sa iba para may maipanggastos sa lugar kung saan sila naroroon.

Ito ay habang inaayos pa ng provincial government ang pagpapauwi sa mga standed na Palaweño dahil hindi parin pinapayagang makabiyahe ang mga barko at eroplano sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine o ECQ.

Ayon kay Provincial Information Officer Winston Arzaga, ang COVID-19: Sagip Palaweño ay hanggang sa Biyernes, May 15 na lamang tatanggap ng tawag ng mga stranded na Palaweño na may kinalaman sa sweeper flights matapos i-anunsyo ng Malakanyang na i-aalis na sa ilalim ng general community quarantine ang mga lugar na may mababang COVID-19 cases kung saan kabilang dito ang Palawan.

“Ang sweeper flights ay ina-arrange pa po ni Governor Alvarez ‘yan at inaalam pa natin kung paano naman ang arrangement sa mga sasakay. Lahat ng ito ay nakadepende kung kailan naman magbubukas ang mga airport,” ani Arzaga sa panayam ng Palawan Daily News.

Samantala, ipagpapatuloy naman nito ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo para sa iba pang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayang Palaweño.
