3rd Palawan Bonsai and Suiseki Show and Competition: Governor’s Cup

Mahigit sa 55 bonsai ang matutunghayan sa 3rd Palawan Bonsai and Suiseki Show and Competition na nagbukas ngayong araw, ika-15 ng Hunyo sa Kapitolyo, kasabay ng pormal na pagsisimula ng Baragatan sa Palawan Festival 2018.

Ang naturang gawain ay itinataguyod ng Palawan Bonsai Society katuwang ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan. Ito ay naglalayong maipakilala at maipalaganap sa lalawigan ang sining ng paggawa ng bonsai.

“Gusto naming maituro sa mga Palaweño ang [patungkol sa] proper basic bonsai at mapalaganap sa buong Palawan ang art of bonsai,” ani G. Generoso A. Frago Jr, presidente ng Palawan Bonsai Society, patungkol sa adhikain na itinataguyod ng kanilang grupo.

Makikita rito ang iba’t ibang klase ng bonsai depende sa laki at hugis na gawa ng mga miyembro ng kanilang grupo. Maliban dito ay mayroon din mga suiseki na makikita sa naturang exhibit.

“Idi-display po namin ito [suiseki] to encourage people. Ito ang natural stone appreciation,” paliwanag ni G. Frago. “Mayroon tayong natural stone na nakikita minsan sa daan na pwede nating i-collect at ilagay sa isang lalagyan”.

Sa ika-18 hanggang ika-19 ng Hunyo naman

Nakatakdang isagawa ang Bonsai 101 workshop sa ika-18 hanggang ika-19 ng Hunyo kung saan ay matututo ang mga partisipante ng mga kaalaman mula sa mga naimbitahang panauhin na batikan na sa larangan ng pagbo-bonsai.

“Mayroon silang actual na wiring. Tuturuan sila kung papaano gumawa and every participant mayroon silang punong hahawakan para i-workshop nila.”

Ang naturang workshop ay may rehistrasyon na P300 kung saan nakapaloob dito ang mga materyales na gagamitin sa naturang workshop.

Dagdag pa ni G. Frago, ang pagpasok sa industriya ng paggawa ng bonsai ay nangangailangan ng disiplina at pasensya. “Kasi ang bonsai hindi sya ‘yung nagagawa ng overnight. It takes years para po mabuo ang isang bonsai. ‘Yon ang kailangan nila, i-motivate ang sarili nila na matuto silang maging mapagpasensya, willing to wait na magawa ang puno nila nang maganda.”

Ang 3rd Palawan Bonsai and Suiseki Show ay magtatagal hanggang ika-23 ng Hunyo at bukas mula alas 8 ng umaga hanggang alas 7 ng gabi sa Provincial Capitol grounds.

Ang Palawan Bonsai Society ay kasapi ng Philippine Bonsai Society Inc. na kilalang samahan ng mga tanyag na personalidad sa larangan ng paggawa ng bonsai sa Pilipinas.
