In El nido, the sudden disappearance of a foreign woman from the shores of Barangay Buena Suerte late Saturday night moved through the quiet beachfront with the weight of uncertainty.
The tourist, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, had gone for a swim and failed to return—prompting concern from residents and an overnight search by the Philippine Coast Guard and local authorities.
She reappeared the following morning at her lodging, safe but disoriented. Hours later, she returned to the water again, triggering a second round of rescue efforts. This time, she was successfully located and brought to safety, eventually turned over to police and transferred to the El Nido Community Hospital for medical evaluation.
Officials reported no injuries and have not released her identity, only confirming that the case concluded without incident.
