As Balabac plans to re-open its tourism operations, a consultation workshop spearheaded by Balabac Municipal Tourism Office joined by the Provincial Tourism Office was held at the island town yesterday, December 9.
The consultation workshop was attended by various stakeholders, tour operators, accommodation business owners, and officials from the local government, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP, and DILG.
The discussions centered on IATF advisories, COVID-19 health protocols, administrative orders, and resolutions vital to ensure that the LGU and all stakeholders will uphold safety and precaution for them and the tourists as the town re-opens its tourism industry.
Balabac remains under minimum alert level and maintains a low record of COVID-19 cases since the outbreak of the virus on the first quarter of 2020.
The island municipality is known for its turquoise sea waters, flour-like sparkling sands, and paradise-like islands such as Onuk and Candaraman.
