Cargo ship, sumadsad sa baybayin ng Capayas, Dumaran

DUMARAN, Palawan — Isang cargo ship na may pangalang “Lady of Manoag” ang sumadsad dakong 10:00 p.m. sa baybayin ng Sitio Aguinaldo, Barangay Capayas, Dumaran, Palawan.

Ayon kay Punong Barangay Richard Dalabajan ng Capayas sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng Palawan Daily News, nagmula ang barko sa Puerto Princesa, patungong Kamaynilaan, subalit habang nasa laot ay nagka-aberya ang makina na sinabayan pa ng malakas na hangin at alon, dahilan para dumaong ito pansamantala sa malapit na baybayin ng Dumaran.

“Sabi ng Kapitan, itatabi muna sana nila ang barko kasi sobrang lakas ng hangin at ang lalaki ng alon, tapos nagka-problema pa ang makina nila, kaya heto po ang nangyari, sobrang babaw ng pinagsadsaran nila,” ani Dalabajan.

Ayon sa kapitan ng barko na si Dennis Almares, hinihintay na lamang nila sa kasalukuyan ang kanilang backup upang magawan ng paraang mahila ito pabalik sa laot, bagama’t sa pagtaya ng opisyal ng barangay ay matatagalan pa ang paghihila nito dahil kinakailangan pang hintaying lumalim ang dagat.

“Mukhang mahirap ito mahila pagitna dahil hanggang baywang lang ang tubig kung saan sumadsad ang barko,” ani Dalabajan. Hindi pa matiyak ng opisyal ng barangay kung may mga napinsalang korales pero magsasagawa aniya sila ng imbestigasyon sa insidente. (AJA/PDN)
