Twenty-nine (29) individuals, a mix of residents and members of the Tagpait Coastal Mangrove Association, delved into a two-day ‘Mangrove Crab Culture and Fattening Training’ held in Barangay Tagpait, Aborlan, Palawan on October 12-13.

The training was spearheaded by the Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) under the leadership of Provincial ENRO Atty. Noel E. Aquino, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Local Government of Aborlan, and the Barangay Tagpait leadership.

The primary objective of this initiative was to equip participants with the necessary knowledge to nurture crabs, offering them an additional source of income.
Moreover, they received various materials from BFAR, while the Provincial Government through PG-ENRO is expected to provide essential equipment to support their endeavors.

The newfound skills in crab culture and fattening promise not only additional income but also enhanced food security for the residents.

With the support of local authorities and organizations, this initiative serves as a crucial step towards sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation in the Tagpait community.
