Coron, Palawan idineklarang nasa ‘State of Calamity’ dulot ng bagyong Goring

Idineklarang nasa State of Calamity ang bayan ng Coron sa naganap na pagpupulong kahapon, araw ng Lunes, Setyembre 4, sa Municipal Annex Building, Coron, Palawan (emergency meating) ang Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) District Management Division (DMD)-Calamian kasama ang Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) sa MDRRMC Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Sa nasabing pagpupulong, tiningnan ng mga miyembro ng MDRRMC ang malalawak na pinsala na dulot ng Bagyong Goring (Saola) sa mga kalsada, imprastruktura, at ekonomiya ng nasabing bayan. Dahil dito, idineklara ang buong Coron bilang nasa “State of Calamity.”

Ayon sa Batas Republika 10121, o mas kilala bilang Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, ang “State of Calamity” ay tumutukoy sa “kalagayan na may kasamang malalang pinsala sa tao at/o malalaking pinsala sa ari-arian, pagkaantala sa mga kabuhayan, kalsada, at karaniwang pamumuhay ng mga tao sa mga apektadong lugar dulot ng natural o tao-gawang panganib.”

Ang PCSDS ay isa sa mga kasapi ng MDRRMC ng Coron na tumitiyak ng pagsunod ng mga munisipyo sa Batas Republika Bilang 7611, o mas kilala bilang Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) for Palawan Act.
