Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga visited the El Nido sewage and Solid Waste Treatment Plant (ENSSWPT) in El Nido on Wednesday, March 1.
Loyzaga and other DENR officials were welcomed by Provincial Officials such as 1st District Congressman Edgardo L. Salvame, 2nd District Congressman Joe Chavez Alvarez, El Nido Mayor Edna G. Lim, and other representatives from the Palawan Provincial Government.
The provincial DENR office lauds tourist-filled El Nido for its efforts to control and lessen water pollution through the establishment of a sewage and solid waste treatment plant (SSTP).
The ENSSWP in Barangay Villa Libertad was designed and built to address water pollution from untreated sewage discharge and garbage waste disposal and was inaugurated in September 2021.
