The Department of Trade of Trade and Industry (DTI) announced that it has implemented a price freeze in areas hit by Typhoon Tino and Typhoon Uwan, including Palawan.
The DTI regional office in Mimaropa region disseminated the price freeze bulletin in the different provinces within the region.
“In view of the declaration of a State of National Calamity (Presidential Proclamation No. 1077, S. 2025), the prices of basic necessities are hereby automatically frozen at their prevailing levels, effective for the duration of the condition that brought about the declaration, but not exceeding sixty (60) days. This price freeze bulletin is issued pursuant to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 7581, otherwise known as the ‘Price Act,’ as amended,” the DTI said.
It explained that the price freeze was immediately in effect upon the declaration of state of calamity based on the DTI’s consumers’ advisory.
