Kapitolyo, maglalaan ng P50M para sa mga iskolar nito taon-taon

Wala ng pangamba ang mga kasalukuyang iskolar ng pamahalaang panlalawigan dahil sa nakasisiguro ang mga ito na taon-taon ay maglalalaan ng P50 milyong piso ang kapitolyo para matustusan ang kanilang mga pag-aaral hanggang sila ay makapagtapos.

Sa bisa ng Povincial Ordinance No. 2627 ng 2021 na nilagdaan ni Palawan Governor Jose Chaves Alvarez, maipagpapatuloy na umano ng mga iskolar ng lalawigan ang kanilang pag-aaral ng iba’t-ibang kursong pang-kolehiyo kagaya ng medisina at iba pang medicine related courses.

Ayon sa Provincial Information Office (PIO), ito ay naisakatuparan sa pamamagitan ng Medical Scholarship Program sa ilalim ng I-HELP Education na sinimulan ng pamahalaang panlalawigan. Ito rin umano ay nilikha rin upang makasiguradong magkakaroon ng sapat ng doctor at nurses ang pagpapatayo ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng labing-anim na ospital sa iba’t-ibang panig ng probinsya.

Ayon kay Normelyn Alba-Sali, ina ng isang iskolar mula sa bayan ng Brooke’s Point, malaking tulong umano ang programa upang maibsan ang kanilang gastusin sa pagpapa-aral ng kanilang anak sa kolehiyo.

“Bilang isang magulang ng isang iskolar ng probinsya ng Palawan ay labis-labis akong nagpapasalamat dahil sa hirap ng buhay ngayon hindi ko alam kung papaano ko mabibigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang aking mga anak, gayong nasa panahon pa tayo ng pandemic at naapektuhan ang aming hanapbuhay,” ayon kay Sali.

Samantala, malaki rin ang pasasalamat ni Jocelyn Silonga ng bayan ng Rizal sapagkat isa rin sa kanyang mga anak ang nabigyan ng pagkakataon na makapag-aral ng libre sa kolehiyo.

“Hindi po biro sa isang magulang ang magpaaral ng anak at bilang recepitent ng napakagandang programang ito, napakalaking tulong po nito upang maabot ng aking anak ang kanyang pangarap,” ani Silonga.

Bagaman matatapos na ang termino ni Alvarez sa darating na Hunyo, inaasahang pa rin na makakapagtapos ang mga kasalukuyang iskolar ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Palawan at magsisilbi sa mga lokal na ospital na nauna nang naipatayo ng kapitolyo.
