Humingi ng paumanhin si Mayor Gerandy Danao ng bayan ng Narra kaugnay ng nangyaring insidente sa Barangay Panacan na kinasangkutan niya at ni Barangay Chairman Ferdinand Zaballa.

Sa kanyang opisyal na pahayag na inilabas nitong araw, sinabi ni Danao na hindi niya inaasahan ang insidente at buong-loob siyang umaako ng responsibilidad bilang isang halal na opisyal.

“Ako po ay taos-pusong umaako ng buong responsibilidad bilang inyong Mayor—isang posisyon na nangangailangan ng pagiging ehemplo ng disiplina, kahinahunan, at paggalang sa kapwa, anuman ang emosyon o sitwasyon,” ani Danao.
Inamin din ng alkalde na siya ay nasaktan at nadala ng damdamin bunga ng matagal na umano’y pag-aalispusta sa kanyang pagkatao, ngunit giit niya, hindi ito sapat na dahilan upang masira ang imahe ng pamahalaan.

“Muli ako po ay humihingi ng tawad sa bawat mamamayan ng Panacan at ng buong Narra na nasaktan dahil sa aking naging bahagi sa insidenteng ito,” dagdag pa niya.

Hindi pa nagbibigay ng pahayag si Chairman Ferdinand Zaballa hinggil sa insidente, ngunit inaasahang magsasalita ito sa nakatakdang sesyon ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan bukas, Mayo 20.

Ngunit, sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Zaballa sa Palawan Daily, nakatakdang rin itong maghain siya ng pormal na reklamo sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at sa Commission on Elections (COMELEC) bilang bahagi ng kanyang hakbang upang maimbestigahan ang insidente at mapanagot ang sinumang opisyal na lumabag sa batas.

“Pati sa DILG and COMELEC kasi winning election period pa tayo. June 12 pa ma lift,” ani Zaballa.
Samantala, inihayag din ni Zaballa na magsusumite na ang PNP ng kriminal na kaso laban kay Mayor Danao sa araw na ito kaugnay ng naturang insidente.
“Regular filing na. Mag file na daw ang police ngayon. Then ako naman may meeting sa lawyers ko,” dagdag nito.
Patuloy namang hinihintay ng publiko ang magiging resulta ng mga imbestigasyon at posibleng mga hakbang ng mga kinauukulang ahensya hinggil sa usapin.
