Binigyang pugay ng pamahalaang panlungsod ang mga atletang nagkamit ng medalya sa Palarong Pambansa noong ika-26 hanggang 31 ng Mayo, sa Ilocos Norte.
Sa ginanap na flag raising ceremony ngayong araw ng Lunes, Hulyo 7, sa New Green City Hall, pinangunahan ni Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron ang pag-aabot ng insentibo sa mga manlalaro na nagdala ng karangalan sa lungsod.

Kinilala ang gold medalist na si Carmelo Yanong mula sa F. Ubay Elementary School para sa larong chess. Sa larangan naman ng boksing, iniuwi nila Jay-M Rosas ng San Miguel National High School (54-kg event) at Alrapi Dumaan ng Sicsican National High School (51-kg category) ang gintong medalya.

Nasungkit naman nina Jandrea Lanuza ng F. Ubay Memorial Elementary School sa larong badminton (mixed doubles) ang tansong medalya kasama rin sina Riyademan Villafuerte ng Palawan National School sa taekwondo (kyurogi event), Mervin Adrian Alolod ng San Jose National High School sa arnis (combative event, high school division), at Michaella Encarnacion ng Palawan National School sa tennis (secondary girls doubles).

Nakatanggap ng insentibo na tig-10,000 o 20,000 ang mga nakauwi ng tansong medalya at 50,000 na halaga para sa mga nagkamit ng gintong medalya.
Nakiisa rin sa seremonya sina Assistant Schools Division Superintendent at Officer-in-Charge of Office of the Schools Division Superintendent Maam Laida Lagar-Mascareñas, kabilang din ang Education Program Supervisor ng City Department of Education, Mr. Ambrocio Escorpiso at si City Sports Director Atty. Gregorio “Rocky” Austria.

Nagpahatid naman ng buong pusong pagbati ang alkalde sa mga nanalong atleta gayundin sa mga trainers at coaches na gumabay at sumanay sa mga nabanggit na manlalaro.
