During the Palawan Water inauguration event at Tara Island, Coron Palawan, a Level 2 technology milestone was achieved with the launch of a cutting-edge reverse osmosis water desalination system. This innovative system utilizes advanced filtration processes to convert seawater into clean and potable drinking water, addressing the region’s water scarcity challenges effectively.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the smart tap water dispenser hub, a state-of-the-art facility that provides convenient access to the purified water produced by the desalination system. Equipped with smart technology, the dispenser hub offers a user-friendly interface and real-time monitoring features, ensuring efficient water distribution and management.

The integration of Level 2 technology in the form of the reverse osmosis desalination system and smart tap water dispenser hub signifies a significant leap towards sustainability and environmental stewardship in Coron, Palawan. This initiative not only enhances water accessibility for the local community but also promotes responsible water usage and conservation practices.

Residents of Tara Island can now access potable drinking water through the launch of a reverse osmosis water desalination system. Engineer John Gil Ynzon, Palawan Water Program Head announced that residents can avail of a dispenser chip priced at 400 pesos, loaded with 100 liters of water, which is both consumable and reloadable.

Barangay Captain Tess Casareno urged the residents of Tara Island to support the project.

Level 3, which offers house-to-house connections, is also now available for residents with a one-time installation fee of 3,600 pesos. This fee includes pipes, a faucet, and a meter. The minimum monthly consumption is 3 cubic meters or 3,000 liters, with a minimum bill of 2,500 pesos.

Level 3 connection and installation fee can also be availed through a 12-month staggered payment plan by the consumer.

The Palawan Water inauguration showcased a commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to address pressing water-related issues and foster a more resilient and sustainable future for Coron, Palawan.

The inauguration and turnover ceremony at Tara Island, Coron, Palawan, took place on May 24, 2024. The event was attended by Mayor Mario T. Reyes Jr., other LGU officials, Engineer John Gil Ynzon, and representatives from Palawan Water.
