Resolusyong naglalayong ilipat ang petsa ng Baragatan para sa Disyembre, inihain

Sa pagpupursigi na mapalawak ang kahalagahan ng Baragatan Festival sa Palawan, hiniling ni Board Member Winston Arzaga sa pamamagitan ng isang resolusyon na ipagpaliban muna ang pagdiriwang nito sa Hunyo upang bigyang daan ang paglipat nito sa Sur at Norte sa Disyembre para sa mga munisipyo.

Kasabay umano ng magiging pagdiriwang nito sa Sur at Norte ang “Baragatan sa Kapaskuhan,” na gaganapin rin sa gusali ng kapitolyo sa darating na Disyembre.

Ayon kay Arzaga, ang paglipat ng pagdiriwang sa Disyembre ay magbibigay ng pagkakataon sa iba’t-ibang munisipyo na ipakita ang kanilang kultura at tradisyon sa panahon ng kapaskuhan, at magbibigay rin ito ng oportunidad para sa turismo at pagsusulong ng lokal na ekonomiya.

Dagdag niya ay posible itong mangyari sapagkat hindi naman nakasaad sa ordinansa ng Baragatan na sa lungsod lamang ng Puerto Princesa ito maaring ganapin.

Sinabi rin ni Arzaga na magiging mas magaan para sa mga residente at kawani ng mga munisipyo kung ito ay gaganapin sa kanilang mga lugar sapagkat makakatipid ang mga ito sa gastos sa pamasahe.

Sa ngayon ay inihain na sa opisina ni Palawan Governor Victorino Dennis Socrates ang nasabing resolusyon at hinihintay pa ng mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ang magiging desisyon nito.
