The Municipal Operation Office (MOO) of the Municipality of Rizal commenced the Enhanced Support Service Intervention (ESSI) Awarding on Monday, November 20, at the Municipal Gymnasium in Barangay Punta-Baja, aiming to uplift the lives of indigenous communities.

Running from November 20-25, 2023, ESSI unfolds across the gymnasiums of Rizal’s eleven barangays. The program seeks to empower the indigenous people, providing six days of additional support and assistance for improved living.

With an allocation of over P1-million, some 187 indigenous beneficiaries received aid, including cash, calamansi seedlings, materials for duck raising, native chicken, native goat, and other essentials supporting agriculture and livestock.

Led by Ms. Melly N. Dasilao, Municipal Link/Team Leader, and Ms. Jennifer S. Sayang, PDO II/ ESSI Focal, the collaborative effort involved Ms. Roxan Escabal, Mr. Peter Bravante from the Municipal Agriculture Office, Kagawad Sabtoria Garingalao, Kagawad Maxima Ople from Barangay Punta-Baja, and local suppliers Hanriya Trading and 6Two Agri & Poultry Supply.

Mayor Norman S. Ong, represented by Ms. Roxan Escabal, expressed his support for such programs, aligning with his administration’s goal to enhance and provide sustainable livelihoods for the residents of the town.
