Vice President Leni Robredo gained supporters to her presidential run who shifted their support after seeing her passionate stance in the controversial “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews” last Saturday, January 22, 2022.
Joevivar Patricio Jr., a resident of Dumaguena, Narra declared his shift from an avid supporter of another candidate into VP Leni’s side after her performance in the TV interview, and said that even his parents were swayed by the aspirant’s answers.
“Sabi ni papa, on point lagi mga sagot ni Robredo, yung alam mong may pinanggagalingan talaga. Sabi din ni Mama, si Robredo yung kandidato na (hindi) walang involvement sa corruption,” he told Palawan Daily.
Cap, a native of Brgy. San Pedro and an avid supporter of the vice president since then, declared her support and belief of the aspirant’s passion towards the country.
“Mas na-highlight talaga kung ano siya as a candidate, lalo na sa kung paano siya nag-react sa certain issues na nasa harap niya,” Cap said.
Another resident of the city, Toto, a 63-year-old vendor at the local wet market in San Jose expressed his awe towards the aspirant’s aura and drive to answer, however, notwithstanding his support for the opposition.
“Ano, hindi niya ako supporter, pero maganda yung pagkakasagot niya nung Sabado, oo. Maganda yung awra niya, parang pang-presidente na talaga, kaya lang pro-Marcos talaga ako,” he explained.
The intense competition between VP Leni and the other aspirants brought varied opinions in different social media platforms.
Upon facing tough questions that underscored her stance in economic recovery, pandemic, peace and order, same-sex marriage, EJKs and the likes, it was seen to heighten the number of her shiftees and have strengthened the support of her since-then advocates.
However, the aspirant reiterated that the support that she is getting is purely made by her campaign team, and that the volunteer group assures that they have followed the right guidelines and the law upon asking for donations.
“Walang anumang halaga ang napunta sa OVP o mismong kay VP Leni dahil lahat ito ay iginugugol para paandarin ang aming volunteer efforts online at (and) on ground,” Team Leni Robredo group stated.
