Nangangamba ang isang residente sa Roxas, Palawan nang makapanayam ng Palawan Daily News kaugnay sa kumakalat na impormasyon na isasarado pansamantala ang San Jose Terminal dahil sa tumataas na kaso ng COVID-19 dito sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.

“Parang lockdown daw, sarado ang terminal. Nangamba kami baka hindi kami maka-uwi, kasi kung magtagal kami dito sa Puerto Princesa. Nangamba yung mother namin baka hindi kami maka-uwi agad kasi baka dumami pa ang kaso [ng COVID-19] dito sa Puerto, kasi meron daw regular lockdown na maaapektuhan ang terminal sa San Jose,” pahayag ni Rose, residente sa Bayan ng Roxas.

Agad naman sinagot ng pamunuan ng Puerto Princesa Land Transport Terminal na hindi totoo ang balitang ito at ang posibleng mangyari ay ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad sa pagbabawas ng mga pasahero sa pampublikong sasakyan.

“Yung sasaraduhan ang ating terminal, wala namang ganun. May limitasyon lang doon sa mga lalabas ng bahay, depende kasi kung ano ang ilalabas na guidelines o protocol ng IATF. Parang babalik ata tayo sa dati at yung [paghihigpit ay sa] capacity ng puwede nating isakay at yung ating mga papayagang tao na lumabas.” Pahayag ni Joseph Vincent Carpio, Program Manager ng Puerto Princesa Land Transport Terminal (PPLTT).

Dagdag pa ni Carpio, patuloy ang operasyon ng terminal at isa sa posibleng tutukan sa terminal at sa katabi nitong palengke ay kung nasusunod ang alituntunin sa IATF na ang mga pinahihintulutan lamang ang dapat nasa labas ng kanilang tahanan.

“Sa kasalukuyan, kung kayo ay mapapasyal sa himpilan ng pampublikong sasakyan ay patuloy naman ang pagbiyahe ng ating jeep, bus at saka mga shuttle vans.”

“Ito ay hindi na bago. I-implement na lang dahil alam naman natin sa National IATF natin hindi pinapayagan ang paglabas ng 15 taon pababa at lampas ng 60 taong gulang dahil nga sa ating kalalagayan ngayon.”
