DOH-Mimaropa, hinikayat ang LGUs na magtayo ng drug recovery clinic

Puspusan ang pagsusulong ng Department of Health (DOH) na magkaroon ng community-based recovery clinic (CBRC) ang bawat lokal na pamahalaan sa buong rehiyong Mimaropa. Sa pasilidad gagawin ang programa ng pamalahaan sa pagsasailalim sa gamutan at pagpapanumbalik sa normal na pamumuhay ng mga indibiduwal na nalulong sa ilegal na droga matapos na sumuko ang mga ito sa mga awtoridad.

Ayon kay Dr. Ma. Vilma Diez, assistant regional director ng DOH-Mimaropa, isinasailalim muna sa pagsusuri ang mga pasyente upang matukoy ang nararapat na gamutang gagawin sa mga ito. Aniya, ang 90 porsiyentong kabilang sa kategoryang bahagyang nalulong (mild) ay isasailalim sa community-based recovery, at ipapasok naman sa recovery clinic ang katamtaman lamang ang pagkalulong na mayroong 6-11% sa rehiyon.

“Importante ang pagkakaroon ng recovery clinic kasi nagiging sustainable ang programa, ang recovery clinics kasi mga professional doctors ang nandyan, psychologist, psychiatrist, social workers, nurses at tested na po ito, iyon namang community-based, mga volunteers lang po ang nandito,”paliwanag ni Diez sa press conference noong Miyerkules.

Ayon sa opisyal, mayroong sinusunod ang programa na matrix intensive outpatient program na binuo ang DOH kung saan sa unang bahagi ay biological ang pamamaraan, gagamutin ang sakit ng mga ito; psychological; social, kung saan titingnan kung mayroong problemang ligal ang pasyente; maging ang aspetong ispirituwal. Upang matiyak na magiging epektibo ang programa, kasama rin sa group counseling ang pamilya ng pasyente. Habang sumasailalim sa gamutan ang pasyente na may katamtamang pagkalulong sa droga, maaari itong magpatuloy sa kaniyang karaniwang hanapbuhay.

Sa rehabilitation center naman kinakailangang ipasok ang isang porsiyento ng may malala nang pagkalulong sa droga. Pagdating sa nasabing pasilidad, isang rehab center lamang ang kakailanganing maipatayo sa isang rehiyon, at sa plano ng DOH ay ilalagay ito sa bayan ng Bansul, Oriental Mindoro sapagkat may inialok nang lugar ang lokal na pamahalaan para sa proyekto.

Sa Palawan, mayroon nang community enhancement and livelihood project (CELP) ang provincial government na pasado sa DOH upang maging modelong programa. Sa Mimaropa, tanging ang Oriental Mindoro ang nakapagpatayo na ng recovery clinic na sinisimulan nang pinatatakbo sa kasalukuyan ng lokal na pamahalaan. (AJA/PDN)
