GLORIA, ORIENTAL MINDORO – A barangay captain of this municipality was arrested after suspected illegal drugs were found inside his house after a search was conducted yesterday, July 7 at around 6 in the morning.
The suspect was identified to be Domingo M. Mortel, barangay captain of Barangay Maragooc and a listed high-value target of the PDEA.
Through Search Warrant No. 2018-04 dated July 6, 2018 issued by Emery Joy M. Ma-Jabal, Presiding Judge Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Gloria-Bansud, the operatives confiscated two pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, a .45-caliber Armscor, 1 magazine and 7 live ammunitions.
The said service of search warrant was witnessed by the suspect, barangay officials and media representative.
The operation was headed by Police Chief Inspector Reynaldo C. Domelod, Chief of Police, together with the Provincial Office PDEA MIMAROPA led by Agent John G. Bugaling, PNP Maritime Group and NISU34 NISG-SL under the supervision of Police Senior Superintendent Christopher C. Birung, Provincial Director of ORMIN PPO.
The suspect is now under the custody of PDEA4B awaiting for the filing of the case of violation of Republic Act 10591 and Republic Act 9165.
