Palawan, pumalo sa record high sa inflation rate para sa buwan ng Mayo

Pumalo sa record high ang naitalang inflation rate sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa at lalawigan Palawan nitong buwan ng Mayo.

Umangat ng 5.7% ang May 2018 inflation rate kung ihahambing sa 2.0% noong May 2017 base sa kanilang Consumers’ Price Index o buwanang survey sa consumer retail prices.

“As of May 2018, lumalabas na ito ang may pinakamataas na inflation rate na nai-record. Ang inflation rate ay kinukuha natin sa monthly consumers price index, doon nakikita ang taas ng presyo,” ayon kay Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Palawan OIC Oscar Gatpandan.

Dahil dito, nalagpasan pa ang 4.1% inflation rate ng buong palawan nitong April 2018.

Naging basehan ng inflation ang paglobo ng presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin dahil sa hindi mapigilang pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo.

Isa pa sa dahilan ng pagtaas ng inflation rate ay ang Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion o TRAIN law.

Samantala, magkakaroon ang PSA ng second visit sa mga kabahayan para sa kanilang family income and expenditure survey ngayong darating na buwan ng Disyembre .

Ito ay para malaman ang ginagastos at sapat ang kinikita ng isang sa kasalukuyang presyo ng mga bilihin.

Base sa 2015 census of population mayroon ng 1,095,825 ang total population ng lalawigan kasama ang lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.

Ang Puerto Princesa ay mayroon ng 250, 175 total populatiion at 845, 650 naman sa Palawan.

Base naman sa population growth mula taong 2010 hanggang 2015 mayroong 1.84 percent growth rate ang Palawan at 2.62 percent naman sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa.
