The Municipality of Narra clinched the championship title in the 25-under division of the Baragatan Inter-LGU Basketball Tournament 2025 after defeating the defending champion, the Municipality of Quezon, with a final score of 81–68 in the title match held on Monday night, June 17, at the PALECO Gymnasium in Barangay Tiniguiban.
The championship game drew a large crowd of Palaweño basketball fans, with supporters from both teams filling the venue with loud cheers throughout the match.
As champions, Narra received ₱100,000 and a plaque of recognition, while Quezon, finishing as first runner-up, took home ₱80,000. Aborlan secured second runner-up honors after winning against Brooke’s Point, 99–95, and received ₱60,000. Brooke’s Point, as third runner-up, was awarded ₱40,000.
Lian Ken Basa of Narra was named Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his performance during the championship game.
The tournament also honored individual players during an earlier awarding ceremony on June 16. The Mythical Five selection included Ronald John Baltar (Quezon), Angel Dipasupil (Narra), Christian Angelo Danao (Narra), Aiken Orejela (Aborlan), and Mark Jayson Quejada (Brooke’s Point). Baltar was also recognized as the Season MVP.
A total of 14 municipalities competed in this year’s tournament: Aborlan, Agutaya, Araceli, Brooke’s Point, Coron, Cuyo, Dumaran, El Nido, Narra, Quezon, Roxas, San Vicente, Sofronio Española, and Taytay. Each of the non-placing teams received ₱15,000 as a consolation prize.
The basketball tournament is part of the annual Baragatan Festival, which brings together local government units across Palawan to celebrate unity, sportsmanship, and local talent.
