In line with the celebration of the Civil Service Month, the Municipality of Narra will host this year’s 23rd Civil Service Friendship Meet which will be participated by eight southern Palawan towns. It will officially start on September 25 and will run until September 27.
Jeriel Valenzuela, Administrative Aide of the local Hiring and Management (HR) office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Narra, said that they are expecting at least 1,500 delegates, officials and employees from the towns of Española, Brookes Point, Quezon, Aborlan, Kalayaan, Bataraza and Rizal.
“We are expecting at least 1,500 delegates galling sa iba’t ibang munisipyo natin dito sa Southern Palawan,” Valenzuela said.
The Friendship Meet, according to Valenzuela, will promote camaraderie, sportsmanship and good harmonious relationship among the neighboring towns in the South.
“Para ma-maintain natin ‘yung good harmonious relationship sa ating mga karatig munisipyo for the benefit of all,” Valenzuela said.
With a budget of P1.2 million, the municipality of Narra will sponsor food, accommodation and other necessities needed for the 3-day event.
The Civil Service Frienship Meet will highlight games and other programs to be participated by representatives and delegates of other southern towns including; Basketball Men/Women, Volleyball Men/Women, Dart, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Vocal Solo, Fun Run Men/Women, Sail A Boat, Hula Hoop, Pasahan ng Bola and mind and board games such as Scrabble, Chess, Word Factory, and the most awaited Modern and Zumba Dance Competition.
Narra Sangguniang Bayan Member Christine Joy Mahilum, over-all coordinator of the event, said that finalization and other matters are being assisted by the Sangguniang Bayan of Narra to ensure that the event will flow as smooth as possible.
“Marami pa din kailangan i-finalize pero andun na tayo,” Mahilum said.
