Sitwasyon ng supply ng bigas sa Palawan, tatalakayin ng Provincial Board

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Nakatakdang pag-usapan sa Provincial Board sa susunod nilang regular na sesyon ang kabuuang sitwasyon sa supply ng bigas sa Palawan.

Isang resolusyon ang ipinasa sa Provincial Board na ini-akda ni 1st district BM Roseller Pineda para imbitahan ang pamunuan ng National Food Authority (NFA)-Palawan.

Ayon kay Pineda walang mabiling NFA Rice sa merkado na sadya sanang mahalaga ngayon, kasabay ng pagtaas ng presyo ng commercial rice at ng iba pang bilihin.

“Kung titingnan hanggang sa ngayon, sa buong merkado sa lalawigan ng Palawan ay wala pa rin tayong makitang NFA rice katulad din sa iba pang parte ng bansa. Inabot na tayo ng apat na typhoon noong July and one of the most affected is northern Palawan,” ani Pineda sa kanyang sponsorship speech.

Tulad ng sitwasyon sa bayan ng Taytay, ang mabibili lamang sa pamilihang bayan ay commercial rice na nagkakahalaga mula P45 pataas habang kung may NFA ay nagkakahalaga lamang sana ito ng P27 hanggang P32.

Layunin ng imbitasyon ay ang mabatid din ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan kung ano pa ang mga plano at mga nakasalang na programa ng ahensiya para sa buong probinsiya.

Samantala iminungkahi naman ni Board Member Albert Rama ng Ikatlong Distrito imbitahan ang Department of Agriculture (DA)-Palawan ay upang mabigyan ng kaliwanagan ukol sa sitwasyon ng suplay at produksyon ng bigas sa lalawigan dahil maya’t maya umano ay tumataas ang presyo nito.

Iminungkahi niya ring paanyayahan ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Palawan para alamin kung mayroon ba talagang rice hoarding sa probinsiya kaya tumataas ang presyo ng bigas.
