Walang mabiktima ng firecrakers, target ng DOH

Katuwang ang Philippine National Police (PNP) ng Department of Health (DOH)-Mimaropa sa pagsagawa ng Information Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign sa Palawan National School (PNS) sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa kaugnay ng programang 'Iwas Paputok' ng DOH. (Larawan mula sa PIO)

Target ng Department of Health (DOH)-Mimaropa na walang mabibiktima ng anumang uri ng paputok o ‘fire crackers’ sa panahon ng pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan hanggang sa pagsalubong sa Bagong Taon.

Upang maseguro ang adhikaing ito ay inilunsad ng DOH-Mimaropa sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa kamakailan ang kanilang programang iwas paputok na may temang “Oplan: Iwas Paputok, Fireworks Display ang Patok! Makiisa sa Fireworks Display sa Inyong Lugar.”

Kasabay nito ang pagsagawa ng Information Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign sa pamamagitan ng interactive sessions sa piling paaralan sa Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa upang hikayatin ang mga estudyante na umiwas sa paggamit ng anumang uri ng paputok o firecrackers ngayong holiday season.

Sa nasabing aktibidad ay namahagi ang DOH ng mga torotot sa mga estudyante na siyang magsisilbing ingay sa pagsalubong ng bagong taon sa halip na paputok ang gamitin at hinikayat ang mga ito na makiisa na lamang sa mga ‘fireworks display’ sa kani-kanilang mga lugar.

Binisita rin ng DOH-Mimaropa sa pangunguna ni Dr. Wilma Diez, Assistant Regional Director ang ilang ospital sa lungsod ng Puerto Princesa upang makita ang kahandaan ng mga pasilidad nito sakaling may maitalang biktima ng paputok sa lungsod at lalawigan.

Nagsimula ang pagmomonitor ng DOH-Mimaropa ng mga fire crackers related injuries simula Disyembre 15 at magtatagal hanggang Enero 05, 2019.

Katuwang sa adhikaing ito ng DOH ang iba pang ahensiya ng pamahalaan tulad ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Education (DepEd) at Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Sa tala ng Ospital ng Palawan, dalawa lamang ang nabiktima ng paputok mula Disyembre 21, 2017 hanggang Enero 05, 2018.

Inilabas na rin ng DOH ang mga listahan ng ipinagbabawal na paputok ayon sa RA 7183. (OCJ/PIA-Mimaropa, Palawan)
