The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has granted P1-million livelihood project for Barangay Buenavista residents engaged in fisheries and tourism activities, the City Public Employment Service Office (City PESO) said.

Buenavista Bangus and Oyster Association and Floating Restaurant is the recipient of the DOLE grant.
The City PESO headed by PESO manager Demetrio A. Lopez Jr. said that assistance was made possible through the collaboration of their office and the community association.

The City PESO said that tourists and visitors can now enjoy various activities in Barangay Buenavista such as kayaking, snorkeling, and banana boat ride. It said that the fixing of the floating restaurant is still ongoing and soon this will be open to serve the public.

The City PESO urged the public to visit and support this new eco-tourism attraction in the barangay.

Buenavista. Sama-sama nating itaguyod ang lokal na kabuhayan at turismo” it said.

Barangay Buenavista showed strong potential for eco-tourism due to its integration into the city’s broader sustainable tourism initiatives, featuring community-based projects that empower local residents, promising natural beauty and proximity to existing established tourism destinations like nearby Ugong Rock and the world-known Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Its viability depends on developing the natural assets with responsible practices, and creating unique experiences.
