Hotel Expo Year 2 kicks off at SM City

The Association of Accredited Accommodation of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Inc. (AATAPPP) officially launched the Hotel Expo Year 2 with over 50 participating hotels and accommodations.

Aileen Cynthia Amurao, City Tourism Officer, mentioned during her welcome speech that the success of the tourism industry in Puerto Princesa is because of the private sector. She also congratulated all the people behind the event.

“Ang tagumpay po ng turismo ay hindi tagumpay ng pamahalaang lungsod, tagumpay po yan ng private sectors. Sa inyo pong lahat welcome po sa event na ito,” she said.

“Congratulations po sa inyong lahat, and the mayor would like to tell you [AATAPPP] na sana po i-continue daw po natin itong partnerhip na ito, and he is looking forward na mas maarami pa tayong project and programs na pagsamahan,” Amurao added.

Bryan John Dizon, President of AATAPPP, expressed his excitement over the project. “I am very excited because this is the main project [of AATAPPP] and at the same time something we would like to do every year,” he said.

In behalf of the City Mayor, City Councilor Roy Gregorio Ventura told AATAPPP members, “I am sure that all members of AATAPPP work hard to give the best amenities and services to our guests. Because they are making the Puerto Princesa experience memorable, pleasant and worth going again is on your hands.”

The participating hotels and accommodations will offer exclusive discounts for on-the-spot bookings. Aside from these exclusive discounts, multiple events and program will be happening in the week-long expo.

The list of activities and programs during the expo are the following: Personality Development and Public Relations by Guen Villanueva, General manager of Sunlight Guest Hotels; Skills and Expectations in the Tourism Industry by Joy Suarez, General Manager of Astoria Palawan; Plastic-free ideas! by Gia Querubin of Binhi Organic Market; Plastic Pollution and its effect on Marine wildlife; Ecological Principles by CENRO; Bartending Trends and Product Demo; Coffee Appreciation and Product Demo; and lastly the Closing Ceremonies and Acknowledgment.

The expo started last February 16 and it will last until February 24, 2019, it is located at the SM City Puerto Princesa Activity Center.
