Palawan honors Top Municipal Assessors, Treasurers, Taxpayers, and Public Servants at Governor’s awards night

The provincial government of Palawan, led by Governor Dennis M. Socrates, honored outstanding municipal assessors, treasurers, top real property taxpayers, and exemplary public servants during the Governor’s Awards Night held on June 18, 2025, at the VJR Hall of the Capitol.

The annual recognition ceremony highlighted the contributions of key local government officials and private individuals in public service delivery and local revenue generation.

Topping the list of awardees for the Five Most Outstanding Municipal Assessors were:

1. Geraldine Tan, REA (El Nido) – 1st Place
2. Elvira Sumawang, REA (Narra) – 2nd Place
3. Janet Quiño, REA (Brooke’s Point) – 3rd Place
4. Vicenta Rabanal, REA (Bataraza) – 4th Place
5. Doris Arcoyo, REA (Quezon) – 5th Place
6.
The Top 5 Municipal Treasurers recognized for excellence in fiscal management and revenue collection were:

1. Maximo Ardoña (El Nido) – Top 1
2. Renato de Vera (Culion) – Top 2
3. Elsa Pedrez (Roxas) – Top 3
4. Emma Tabangay (Brooke’s Point) – Top 4
5. Andrew Vicente Garcellano (Coron) – Top 5

In addition, plaques of recognition were awarded to the Top 5 Outstanding Real Property Taxpayers in two categories:

Individual Category:
1. Orley Ong (Coron) – Top 1
2. Apolinario Villamor Jr. (Coron) – Top 2
3. Ferdinand Chua Go (El Nido) – Top 3
4. Luthgardo Cruz (Coron) – Top 4
5. Gil Macatangay (El Nido) – Top 5

Corporate Category:

1. Amanpulo Resorts (Cuyo) – Top 1
2. Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corp. (Bataraza) – Top 2
3. DMCI Power Corporation Palawan (Narra & Aborlan) – Top 3
4. Ten Knots Philippines, Inc. (El Nido) – Top 4
5. EcoNorth Resort Ventures, Inc. (El Nido) – Top 5

Meanwhile, three individuals received the Governor DMS Awards for their exemplary contributions in public service: Dr. Bon Karlo C. Ladia of Bataraza District Hospital, Dr. Ryan B. Ruiz of Coron District Hospital, and Ms. Angelique M. Songco of Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park.

The awards program is part of the provincial government’s efforts to promote excellence in local governance and encourage sustained performance in both public service and compliance with tax obligations.
