The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – Palawan State University Chapter has recently bagged four national awards namely Best Chapter for Area B, Green Advocate, Best NAW 2017 Celebration, and Best Chapter of the Year.
The awards were received by Immediate Past Chapter President Steven Arman Pagador and conferred by the United Architects of the Philippines last August 27 at the Metrotent Convention Centre, South Drive, Pasig, Metro Manila.
“United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary – Palawan State University Chapter may not be just the best chapter in Area B, but also in the Philippines for we are extraordinary, distinctive, and imaginative,” Pagador said.
Palawan is said to be one of the best islands in the world and so the chapter members, who are aspiring architects, can also be the best from the rest.
“We are inspired of everyday seeing the beauty of Palawan and it’s richness of the nature, culture and resources that emboldens our minds to further collaborate architecture harmony with nature. For innovation and progression this is what makes our chapter the best. To further unfold the secrets in architecture that is yet to be known through the whole world.”
The Chapter aims to fortify the bond of architecture students in Palawan State University, through series of activities that upholds leadership and camaraderie. Strengthen the virtues, theories and principles of architecture in the students by conducting series of seminars and workshops.
Last year, it has 144 members out of 188 total population of architectural students.
“Yearly, we conduct series of chapter event such as seminars, acquaintance parties, workshops, college/University events and leadership development programs. We also participate in off campus activities such as Pista y ang Cagueban, community immersions such as outreach programs. And conduct activities to celebrate national events such as World Architecture Day and National Architecture Week.
“Just do your best, for the benefit of the members. Showcase the character of your chapter, be unique and distinctive. Do not [only] aim for these awards, focus on your whole year activities, programs and projects. Aim for the success of your events, and everything will follow,” Pagador added.
As part of its service to its members, they always stay open for their concerns in the department, college and university by assisting them in their transaction inside the department and the college. They also seek partnership with establishments through having discounts on products and services such as blueprint services.
“To the members of the chapter, on behalf of the Board of Directors of UAPSA-PalSU chapter, we are very thankful for giving us the opportunity to serve you in past fiscal year. It is a lifetime opportunity that we will never forget. We hope that you will continue to support UAPSA for the years to come. You are the blood of this chapter, and we exist because of you.”
