All 367 barangays in Palawan’s 23 municipalities will receive P200,000 each from the Provincial Government as the Aid to the Barangay for 2019 and 2020, the provincial government said in a statement.

Provincial Board Member Ferdinand Zabala, and president of the Liga ng mga Barangay said that the release was timely since at present, all the barangays are in dire need due to the heightened quarantine measures due to coronavirus disease (Covid)-19.

The barangays are advised to coordinate with their municipal Liga ng mga Barangay for the schedule of the distribution of the assistance in their respective towns.

Zabala said that starting Friday, April 3, 2020, he will start the distribution of the funds to the different barangays.

He will be assisted by Mr. Richristopher Magbanua, program manager of Rescue 165. He is thankful to Governor Alvarez who allowed him to borrow plane and chopper for him to expedite the distribution of the funds.

The funds shall be utilized exclusively for food assistance, medicines, and other equipment needed to combat Covid-19.
