If our life will be a remake movie which constituted of settings, plot twists, climaxes and the script, it would differ from scenes by scenes, and characters by characters yet nonetheless, our scriptwriter would be only One—the Lord God Himself.
Probably, admit it or not, there had been a phase in our life that we have had questioned God’s absolute sovereignty and perfect love for us because of the struggles we never thought we could possibly overcome. But we should not forget that we are living the life of sorrows. There is no and will never be exceptions for suffering—unbelievers and even believers do suffer.
This is how we can let ourselves draw closer to Him and let our faith becomes stronger for He is the Great Comforter, “who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Corinthians 1:4).
Life is often mountains and valleys. We, at times, walk in dark plateaus and swim deep oceans but amidst such, the ignited fire of faith in store within us should be kept flaming and should not be weakened.
In Psalms 23:4, King David who was known to be the sweet psalmist of Israel, wrote, “Even though I walk through valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
This is one of the moving verses I’ve read wherein despite of how rough and steep this ride of life, God’s relentless love, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are with us and are all ever present through every crossroad we are about to meet. Men and demons may violate His commandments but we cannot thwart His purposes for us, His children.
As what Apostle Paul had written in Romans 8:18, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” This verse was elaborated more by Dr. Harry Kilbride, a British pastor wherein he stated that God cares very much about us, and has plans to prosper for us; that we must trust in Him and keep going; that His plans may surprise us; and there may be unexpected twists and turns in the road.
And if you are in doubt about what could possibly lie ahead of you, do not be! For God will show us His will for us when it is time. Do not also forget that He has chosen us before we had ever been brought to this world. He gave us personalities that make us unique, and talents to glorify His name for His goodness, and nothing was by chance.
I am just like you. I have struggles every day. I get disappointed. I feel unproductive, unworthy, not good at all, depressed, sad and a mess but despite everything that I am feeling and have felt, I realized that there’s still so much time to figure out to be stressed with things that we know are controllable; that this road is really tough and steep but God’s goodness is and will always prevail because we do not go through these trials alone.
And as I end this write-up, I’ll be sharing you these words which enlightened me, and I hope they would also do such for you:
“We are hard pressed on every side but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; and struck down but not destroyed.”
“I am convinced God sometimes allows the more precious of His children to pass through such times of spiritual dryness and depression to draw them closer to Himself and to bring them greater blessing.”
Jesus also said that we should not be anxious about tomorrow because if in all our ways, we submit everything to Him, He will help and make our paths to be straightened and directed.
As we face all the giants ahead of us, God is our armor, shield and protector and He is there to help guide us through.
He will not give us things we cannot carry, and I know tomorrow or the next few days everything will be better again for all of us
Let’s all root for each other as we all become our dream persons!
