The sought after weekend market that features organic and locally made products is back after almost five months of hiatus due to pandemic, this time a triple treat awaits its regular patron with not just one but three anniversary celebrations.
Dubbed as Marché à La Terrasse, it’s a collaboration of three events all happening this September, French-inspired resto La Terrasse Café will turn 10 years older, tepina creator Rurungan Sa Tubod Foundation will celebrate 21 longevity years, and Palawan’s organic and arts and crafts bazaar Binhi Mindful Market is now three years old, scheduled this September 5 and 6 at La Terrasse Café in Rizal Avenue extension here in Puerto Princesa.
The event will start at 10 in the morning and will last until 9 in the evening, will feature a diverse cuisine and specialties from Palawan’s innovative chefs and home cooks from the City and from El Nido. Among to expect are La Terrasse Café restaurant specials thru their French crepe station, Asian Street Food by Xeryl Ocampo of El Nido, Ramen Bar by Marimegmeg Beach Club’s Chef Diggy Alvarez of El Nido, Ameng Balay will serve their famous breakfast bowls (PPC), Kusina ni Tito Ernie’s binalot meals and sandwiches with kamote bread, Bahay Kalipay’s Raw Food Chef and Detox Director Daniw Arrazola will serve vegan food + Bootza kombucha, Neva’s Place will serve their brick oven pizza and El Txoko’s Chef Monique Escalona will serve paella and host a Spanish tapas bar.
The fiesta flavors didn’t end yet, also joining are Maldita – chili sauce, Honey’s Homemade Cheese, Palawan Yogurt, Palawan Smokers and Rodriguez Nature Farm – native chicken. Desert stations and drinks such as Cookie Island Ph, Bahay Brew, Lost Islands Center for Kape / LICK (El Nido), Palaweño Brewery, Archer’s Cookies, Nagtabon Cakes, Clè Dizert and Ithamar Orchard will be there too.
Palawan’s artisans will be there in full force headed by Jojo Orcullo of Asiano, Jonathan Benitez and ACEO Puerto Princesa, Yolly Parker-Dixon of Arti-Arti and Anita of Atelier Aquatic from Port Barton.
Other Crafters / Makers you will see are Best Honey Ph, Isla Marikit, Coolture (Port Barton), Balai Malaiya, Macraméstiza, Figured Wood Works (South of Palawan), Ameng Balay and Paraluman Palawan. Human Nature Palawan will also join to raise fund for anti-dengue campaign in Brooke’s Point.
Since Agriculture is in this crucial time, it is great to learn and get some tips from Gintong Butil Farm, Javenri Harvest Farm, Roots Eco Farm (Sibaltan) and LVF Farm that already announce their participation for Marché à La Terrasse.
Performances and mind learning experience is also something to look forward, these are Konektibo, Palawan Dance Ensemble, Mandala Smoothie Bowl by Bahay Kalipay, Sunset Cocktails by DJ MartinLuther and DJ set by Señor Lutowski of El Nido, Coffee Cupping by LICK and Blues & Jazz with Dempto Anda. Raffles with exciting prizes will happen in between.
The soon to rise portal Palawan Local market will be there too for their sign up campaign. The two day event is free to the public, expect proper health protocols and don’t forget to wear your face mask and face shields.
