Miss Palawan 2021 to crown three Queens this Feb 27

The junior presentation of Miss Palawan this 2021 will crown not one, but three titles with big cash prize at stake, these are Miss Palawan-Universe, Miss Palawan-Earth Philippines, and Miss Palawan-World titles.

From almost 60 hopefuls, 21 ladies will vie in this year’s title. The grand coronation is scheduled on February 27 to be held in Puerto Princesa City Coliseum. The chosen candidate to represent Palawan in Miss Universe-Philippines pageant will take home P50, 000 cash prize, while the winner to represent the province for Miss Earth-Philippines and Miss World-Philippine will both receive P25,000 cash, tax excluded.

“Si Miss Universe prankisa ako ‘yun ang deal namin, pero pwede ko naman i-represent ‘yung ibang crown, may agreement o MOA ako do’n sa World and Earth, sila rin mamili automatic na siya na candidate ng Palawan,” Miss Palawan Charities Inc CEO Bong Villanueva said.

This year’s pageant will have Manila based fashion designer Ricky Abad in providing the official swimwear, while each candidates is obliged to provide their own gown for the competition. Prizes for different categories is also big as supported by different partners and sponsors.

National Costume winner will take home P75, 000 cash, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown will each receive P50, 000. A special award called “GSMAXX Choice” will receive P100, 000, 00. While the First and second runner up prize is to be announced soon.

Reigning Miss Palawan Jennifer Linda will be the official emcee in this year’s pageant. According to Villanueva, there are a lot of things being ironed out for now regarding the grand coronation in order to follow all the rules required by the local Inter-Agency Task Force, they are only allowed to fill 50% seating capacity of the Coliseum that’s why it will be on a first come first serve basis for the 7000 seats out of original 15k seating capacity venue.

“Open ‘yan, wino-work out pa namin ang Ben&Ben ‘yung guest artist kung may on-ground na sila na concert kung pwede na sila i-allow ng IATF, most likely nasa 60% negotiations na kami, may mga beauty Queens din kami na judges coming from different national pageants, and guest celebrities pero depende pa sa i-allow ng IATF kasi may mga pa quarantine tayo,” Villanueva added.

You can catch the 21 candidates of Miss Palawan 2021 on January 30 for the National Costume and talent competition at Astoria Palawan, Swimsuit and Preliminary Interview on Feb 13 to be held in the municipality of El Nido. A new song “Palawena” is to premiere on the coronation night composed by Palawan artist Marckiel Almarez. The tickets for the grand coronation is prize at P100 and P200 only.

“Ang theme ng Miss Palawan now is Explore, Utopia and Beauty, ang advocacy namin is to promote ‘yung pagbangon ng turismo ng Palawan, and of course ‘yung mga charity namin sa mga less fortunate na ginagawa na rin namin,” Villanueva shared.

This year’s official candidates are Jirah Ayunan of Aborlan, Judy Ann Daguhoy-Agutaya, Louise Joy Gallardo- Araceli, Embrida Abia – Balabac, Arlene Joy Daganta – Bataraza, Angelika Paduga – Busuanga, Jamaica Venturillo – Cagayancillo, Mercy Grace Agustin- Culion, Angelica Lopez – Cuyo, Cherry Ann Balisacan – Dumaran, Daena Yapparcon- El Nido, Klaidel Hope Concepcion – Linapacan, Marie Paz Eleazar – Magsaysay, Antoinette De Peralta – Narra, Xenia Bunio- Puerto Princesa City, Normelyn Abrera – Quezon, Joanna Marie Garcia – Rizal, Jaena Carandang- Roxas, Rocheanne Bongat- San Vicente, Jecris Dagsa- Sofronio Espanola, And Marie Victoria Torres of Taytay.

Miss Palawan 2021 is presented by GSMAXX Construction, Foton Puerto Princesa, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc, Provincial Government of Palawan thru Gov. Jose Ch. Alvarez, Municipal Government of El Nido thru Mayor Edna Lim, Municipal Government of Bataraza thru Mayor Abraham Ibba and Vice Mayor Kennedy Jaafar, City Government of Puerto Princesa thru Mayor Lucilo Bayron and Vice Mayor Nancy Socrates, JC High Eagle Marketing, Hotel Centro, Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resorts, Astoria Palawan, Bong Villanueva Group of Salon.
