25 kahon ng smuggled cigarettes, nasabat ng PNP Maritime Group

Nasabat ng 2nd Special Operation Unit- PNP Maritime Group ang 25 na kahon na sigarilyo sa Bayan ng Bataraza, Palawan nitong ika-7 ng Disyembre.

Ayon sa ulat ng 2nd SOU- PNP Maritime, nagsasagawa sila ng law enforcement operation sa karagatan sakop ng Brgy. Malihud, Bataraza, na nagresulta sa pagkakumpiska ng mga smuggled na sigarilyo na sakay ng bangkang “ML Princess Online” na mula sa bansang Indonesia.

Nahuli rin ang mga sangkot na sina Masil Lasad, 23 anyos; at, Elah Jamila, 20, at Harwin Doro, 23, na pawang mga residente sa So. Matangule, Brgy. Bancalaan, Balabac.

Sa follow up operation, limang indibiduwal naman ang nahuli sakay sa Toyota Grandia sa Bayan ng Bataraza. Sakay ng van ang naglalakihang kahon ng mga sigarilyo.

Kinilala ang mga nahuli na sina Abbay Casim, 25 anyos; Jirol Bizih Sala, 41; Jay-ar Saif, 30; at Majirun Oro Hasim, 46; mga residente ng Brgy. Saraza, Brooke’s Point; at Romel Kunsian Jero, 21 anyos.

Nakumpiska sa mga arestado ang isang Toyota Grandia na may plaka VAA 125 na nagkakahalaga ng P730,000; isang sidecar ng motor na nagkakahalaga ng P 70,000; at 25 kahon ng assorted smuggled cigarettes na nagkakahalaga naman ng P250,000.

Maharap sa kasong Violation of Section 1401 o “Unlawful Importation or Exportation” at Section 1404 o “Failure to Declare Baggage” ng R.A. 10863 (Custom Modernization and Tariff Act) ang unang tatlong naaresto.

Ang limang indibidwal na nahuli sa follow up operation ay mahaharap naman sa kasong Violation of Section 1401 o “Unlawful Importation or Exportation” sa ilalim ng R.A. 10863 (Custom Modernization and tariff Act).

Samantala, ang nasabat na mga ebidensya ay nasa 2nd SOU-MG Rio Tuba Detachment, Bataraza.
