Residents of Mangsee Island, the farthest barangay in southern Palawan now have access to potable waters while in the comfort of their homes, the Palawan Water announced Tuesday, February 28.

This comes after Palawan Water provided a water delivery service and level III connection.

“We are happy to announce that the Mangsee Reverse Osmosis Water System is now offering efficient potable water delivery service and Level III connection,” Palawan Water announced.

“To continuously provide easy access to safe and clean water to every resident of Mangsee, Balabac, Palawan, the installation of Level III connections is already being conducted which will provide clean water directly to every household and gives every resident a variety of choices according to their preference,” they added.

Palawan Water, through the help of the Palawan Provincial Government, provided a safe and economically viable water supply to the residents of Barangay Mangsee just a year ago, by establishing a reverse-osmosis water desalination system.

Years ago, residents in Barangay Mangsee sourced their water from underground hand-pumped wells. This, however, brought some concerns, especially since the water from these wells does not undergo treatment.

This finally solved the long-sought water source problem of its estimated 9,000 residents.
