The province of Palawan is hosting its very first “Festival of Palawan Fruits” today, September 6, 2023. The event is taking place at the Centennial Pavilion of the provincial capitol and promises a delightful exploration of the region’s vibrant produce.
This fruit-filled extravaganza is scheduled to run until 2:00 PM, welcoming visitors of all backgrounds to partake in the festivities.
The festival has garnered attention not only for its celebration of Palawan’s rich agricultural heritage but also for the remarkable variety of fruits and other products that it offers.
Among the star attractions are an assortment of tropical fruits, including lanzones, rambutan, jackfruit, durian, native durian, marang, tabo, badak, guyabano, pomelo, dragon fruit, and sagong. These mouthwatering selections are a testament to the fertile lands and skilled farmers that grace the province.
However, the festival isn’t limited to showcasing fruits alone. It also provides a platform for lesser-known gems such as forest fruits like palau manok and palau baboy, mararing, and other wild-harvested delicacies.
Moreover, this event goes beyond fruit and offers a diverse array of fresh, nutritious vegetables, poultry products, nuts, dried goods, and more. This additional marketplace element, known as ‘Barakalan sa Kapitolyo,’ caters to those seeking a broader range of agricultural delights.
