Four Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) from the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, have successfully completed the Micro Enterprise Development Training I (MEDT I) from October 2 to 19, and are set to receive a total livelihood assistance of P1.5 million.

The training, conducted in three batches, covered various aspects of entrepreneurial skills, including Entrepreneurial Mind Setting, Business Cycle, Barangay Micro-Business Enterprise (BMBE), Values Transformation, Financial Literacy, Gender Sensitivity, Community Organizing, Sustainable Agricultural Production Training, Food Safety Training, and Mushroom Production.

Members of the Faith Maharlika SLPA, Macarascas Farmers SLPA, Tagburos Women’s Fish Processors SLPA, and the Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Magkakapitbahay ng Purok 7 SLPA, all part of the SLP-Zero Hunger Project, participated in this capacity-building initiative.

The aim of the training is to equip the beneficiaries with knowledge on these key subjects before they embark on their chosen projects, ensuring the livelihood assistance can flourish and lead to success.

Sheena Mae Lustina, PDO II of SLP-Zero Hunger, spearheaded the event in partnership with several collaborating agencies, such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), JCI Puerto Princesa Oil, City Social Welfare and Development Office- PPC, Aloha House Inc., Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture, LGU PPC, and BLGUs of Barangay Macarascas, Tagburos, and Kamuning.
