International flights resumed operations at the Puerto Princesa International Airport on Monday, March 4, in a bid to further boost the tourism industry in Palawan.

The inaugural flight of Royal Air from Taipei, Taiwan, was greeted with a ceremonial water cannon salute upon its arrival, symbolizing the resumption of international travel to Puerto Princesa.

The Department of Tourism MIMAROPA, in collaboration with the City Tourism Department, rolled out a warm welcome for the 89 passengers aboard the Royal Air flight.

Upon landing, passengers were treated to vibrant local dances, Pinoy delicacies, and tokens of appreciation, showing the warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage of Puerto Princesa.

The introduction of Royal Air’s Taipei flights, scheduled every four days, is expected to significantly boost tourism in Puerto Princesa, attracting more Taiwanese visitors to the city’s renowned attractions.

With its strategic location and world-class tourist amenities, Puerto Princesa aims to position itself as a premier destination for international travelers seeking unforgettable experiences amidst breathtaking landscapes and vibrant local culture.

It also revitalizes the local economy by generating revenue from tourism-related activities such as accommodations, dining, and souvenirs. Additionally, increased tourist arrivals create employment opportunities for local residents, supporting livelihoods and contributing to community development.

Furthermore, the resumption of international flights strengthens Puerto Princesa’s position as a key player in the global tourism market, enhancing its reputation as a must-visit destination in Southeast Asia.

The influx of international visitors will also foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding, enriching the local community and promoting intercultural dialogue.
