The Palawan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) recognized government agencies, rescue responders, volunteer organizations, local government units, hospitals, private sector partners, and other stakeholders during its Stakeholders’ Night on July 28, highlighting their contributions to strengthening disaster preparedness and emergency response across the province.
The recognition program, held at Costa Palawan Resort in Puerto Princesa City, served as the culminating activity of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 in Palawan.
Representing Governor Amy Roa Alvarez, Provincial Administrator Atty. Jefrie R. Sahagun attended the event alongside PDRRM Officer Jeremias Y. Alili and Office of Civil Defense Civil Defense Services Director Eugenio Gepte Jr.
In a message delivered by Atty. Sahagun, Governor Alvarez emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation among government agencies, local government units, emergency responders, volunteer groups, and other sectors in enhancing the province’s disaster preparedness and resilience.
Among those recognized were national government agencies, uniformed services, hospitals, local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, civic and volunteer organizations, private companies, members of the PDRRMC, winners of the Rescue Olympics, the Top 10 Active Volunteer Chapters, recipients of the Heroic Act Award, and barangays that received the Listong Barangay Seal of Excellence.
The awards acknowledged organizations and individuals that have contributed to disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and community preparedness throughout the province.
The Stakeholders’ Night concluded Palawan’s observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, reaffirming the role of interagency coordination and community partnerships in strengthening the province’s capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
