The Puerto Princesa Water District (PPCWD) on Thursday said the Campo Uno dam in Barangay Irawan is on its way to recovery.
Jenn Rausa, PPCWD spokesperson, told Palawan Daily News (PDN) they expect the city’s main water source to fully recover by August during the rainy season.
“On the process of recovery pero talagang mabagal po. Ini-expect namin ‘yan same last year, hopefully ngayong taon magtuluy-tuloy ‘yong ulan, kasi umuulan nga sa bayan pero [katulad] kagabi umulan sa bayan [pero] sa bundok daw po wala,” said Rausa.
Rausa stated while the flowrate in Campo Uno presently maintains at 100 cubic-meter per hour, that is still far from the average 750 cubic-meter per hour.
Rausa noted that its water level is still below 100 centimeters. She said while Puerto Princesa’s daily water supply now comes mainly from its temporary water sources in Lapu-lapu and Montible Rivers, Campo Uno still operates every day for five hours.
Rausa further stated the last cloud seeding operation was completed on May 12 under a 42-hour contract, with each sortie equivalent to one hour.
