Residents of Puerto Princesa eagerly await the return of the Save the Puerto Princesa Bay initiative, set to resume this Saturday, April 20th.

For its seventh installment, the cleanup will converge at the basketball court of Barangay Masipag, targeting a coastal cleanup stretching from Puloy Street, Barangay Bagong Sikat, to Parola – Purok Mameng, Barangay Bagong Silang.

Initiated in mid-July, the program aims to preserve the city’s surrounding ocean, its marine life, and ensure cleanliness along the coastlines. With six chapters completed, the initiative has already collected a staggering 433 tons of waste from various coastal areas.

The upcoming event promises excitement with the return of the Scoop Basura competition, inviting participation from groups representing the military, barangays, academia, and parent-teacher associations. Generous prizes await the contenders.

Residents are urged to join hands once again, reaffirming their commitment to the cause, under the rallying cry, “Together, we will Save the Puerto Princesa Bay.”
